2. New Year’s Eve Sky Spectacular
When: Dec. 31 – Jan 1, 6 p.m. – 1 a.m.
Where: Old Sacramento
What: Guests can enjoy two different firework show as part of the high-energy community celebration. The event will feature the Radio Disney Rockin’ Road Crew and a variety of live entertainment performances to please the young audience, as well as a live-band karaoke stage where Sacramento residents can play rock star in front of a live audience. 3.Wells Fargo Home for the Holidays
Sacramento Choral Society & Orchestra Sacramento Memorial Auditorium
When: Dec. 8, 8 p.m.

What: Wells Fargo Home for the Holidays presented by the Sacramento Choral Society & Orchestra, will be a delight for all. The performance features classic choral orchestral holiday songs, a candlelight procession and an audience sing-along. The performance will also include the premiere of a new work for the Sacramento Children’s Chorus and the SCSO in celebration of the SCC’s 20th anniversary. 4. “The Nutcracker” Theater
When: Dec. 7 – 23
Where: 1301 L St. at Sacramento Ballet Company Community Center Theater
What: No holiday theater season would be complete without “The Nutcracker.” Come watch as Clara battles the evil Mouse King, is saved by the Nutcracker Prince and travels through the Snowflake Forest to the Kingdom of Sweets, where she meets the Sugar Plum Fairy. “The Nutcracker” is an iconic part of holiday traditions and there is nothing like the Sacramento Ballet Company’s production of this magical tale. 7. Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services

What:  Followed by an available orientation, they’re plenty of opportunities for trained or unqualified volunteers including bagging and prepping groceries or helping at mobile food distribution events. 8. Gifts from the Heart
Volunteer at a holiday gift drive that provides thousands of gifts to foster children, seniors and disabled adults for gifts during the holiday season. This program is run by volunteers and relies completely upon donations from the community. 9. Raley’s Theatre of Lights
When: Nov. 21 – Dec. 31, 6:15 – 7:45 p.m.
Where: Old Sacramento State Historic Park
What: Each night, event-goers will experience a symphony of lights, sounds, and visual effects that will take the audience back to the time of the beloved poem “The Night Before Christmas.”

10. Help Homeless Kids Have Christmas
