The Hawks Nest bookstore reopens this semester. Students can pick up books in person, at curbside or have them delivered by mail.

The Hawks Nest bookstore reopened this semester for the first time since March 2020 and students can pick up books in person, at curbside or have them delivered by mail.
“Students want to come in the store and see what everything looks like,” said Bookstore Course Materials Manager Danielle Nodine.
After a year of the bookstore being closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Cat Sutton, a 28-year-old horticulture and equine science major, discussed how having the bookstore open in person will help a lot of students.
“I think it’s going to help some people because not everyone has a place to send an order online,” Sutton said.
Nodine discussed how curbside pickup was largely paused as of spring semester, but is still available to patrons upon request through calling and requesting it. Currently, staff are seeing limited participation.
“We are seeing one or two curbside requests per hundred customers,” Nodine said.
Online ordering is still available for students, with the options for delivery or in-store pickup. Pickup requires either a student ID card or state issued ID or driver’s license.
The pickup service is being widely used by students, as they can go to the pickup window in the rear of the bookstore.
The return and exchange policies for purchases vary by type of material, if the material has been accessed and when the order was placed. Orders placed before the beginning of the semester no longer qualify for refunds.
“Five days out, five days once it’s fulfilled to get a full refund after the start of the semester,” Nodine said.
EBooks are refundable within 14 days of the customer accessing the content, or 30 days after the purchase is made (without customer accessing the content), whichever occurs first, according to the college bookstore online materials page.
The bookstore is open Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Customers are required to wear a mask and social distance regardless of vaccine status.
