As the holiday season is finally here, these are the top five best movies to watch to get you into the holiday spirit. From action packed adventure movies to horror, these films will get you ready for this season.

It’s December! That means it’s time for the Christmas holiday! And it’s time to watch holiday movies during this time of the month.
With so many Christmas movies to watch during the month of December, there are five of them that will get you into the Christmas spirit.
The first movie to watch is the 2000 movie titled “Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas.” The film is directed by Ron Howard (“Rush”) and is narrated by Anthony Hopkins (“The Two Popes”). The Grinch is played by Jim Carrey (“Sonic The Hedgehog”).
The reason why this film is great is because of the story about the movie, the comedy segments, the Grinch and the amazing ending.
“On the outskirts of Whoville lives a green, revenge-seeking Grinch who plans to ruin Christmas for all citizens of the town,” according to the IMDb website.
The performance of Carrey is what made the Grinch character. There were scenes in the film where Carrey would make you laugh, cry and smile.
The ending was notable as the Grinch was about to push his huge sleigh of Christmas presents that he stole from every house off a cliff when Cindy Lou Who, played by Taylor Momsen, (2007, “Underdog”), showed him nobody should be alone on Christmas and he was able to lift the sleigh with his arms considering how heavy it was.
The second Christmas movie to watch during this month is the 1990 film called “Home Alone.” This film is one of my favorites as well.
It’s directed by Chris Columbus and written by John Hughes. The main characters of “Home Alone” are Kevin, played by Macaulay Culkin, Harry, played by Joe Pesci and Marv ,played by Daniel Stern).
“An eight-year-old troublemaker must protect his house from a pair of burglars when he is accidentally left home alone by his family during Christmas vacation,” according to the IMDb website.
This film was full of action-packed adventures. A memorable scene from this film is when Harry and Marv actually managed to get inside Kevin’s house, but they both fell after slipping on a bunch of Hot Wheels cars after Kevin had sat at the very top of the flight of stairs.
Another reason why this movie is one of my favorites is that it teaches me to lock my doors and windows, if you get left home alone.
The third movie to watch during this month is the 1997 movie called “Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas.”
The film is directed by Andrew Knight (“Spotsworld”) and it’s written by seven different writers. The main voices are Beast, voiced by Robby Benson (“One on One”) and Belle, voiced by Paige O’ Hara (“Ralph Breaks the Internet”).
“Astonished to find the Beast has a deep-seeded hatred for the Christmas season, Belle endeavors to change his mind on the matter,” according to the IMDb website.
Many remember watching “Beauty and the Beast ” in their childhood, now this Christmas version plays on the nostalgia of the original.
The scene when Belle and Beast are dancing in the middle of the mansion is updated to a better version than the original.
The fourth movie to watch is the 1992 movie called “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.”
“One year after Kevin McCallister was left home alone and had to defeat a pair of bumbling burglars, he accidentally finds himself in New York City and the same criminals are not far behind,” according to the IMDb website.
It’s directed by Chris Columbus and written by John Hughes.
“Home Alone 2: Lost in New York” is another favorite because of the more ridiculous adventures Kevin goes on when left behind as his family was in Florida.
Kevin planted traps all around and in an abandoned house, but he still got caught by Harry and Marv. The scene towards the end when the older lady and Kevin became friends, she saved him from being shot by throwing birdseed on Harry and Marv.
The fifth and final movie is the 2005 film called “Santa’s Slay.” This film is directed and written by David Steiman (“Hell High”) and it’s a Christmas horror movie.
“Santa Claus is actually a demon who lost a bet with an angel, so he becomes the giver of toys and happiness. But when the bet is off, he returns to his evil ways,” according to the IMDb website.
This film stands out from the rest because of the performance of Santa Claus, played by pro wrestler Bill Goldberg (“The Longest Yard”), as he kills 41 people throughout the movie.
A savage scene is when Santa breaks into a deli shop and then does a finishing move called a “spear” right through the counter display. It was a stunt that Goldberg did himself.
These films will put you in the holiday spirit as they evoke different emotions and it causes you to reminisce.
